What is the difference between a wireless fence and an electric fence?
Basically, a wireless fence is a type of electric fence.

There are two types of fences.

Wireless fences have a transmitter (either plugged in or battery operated) that works with the receiver worn
on the collar of your pet. The transmitter sends out signals to the transmitter when the pet gets within a preset
radius of the transmitter. These can be purchased for both indoor and outdoor use.

Wired fences have a transmitter and wires that work with the receiver worn on the collar of your pet, which set
a particular perimeter for your pet. These are for outdoor use and are great for setting boundaries around a
pool, special landscaping or the front door of your home.

The receiver looks big for my pet.
Yes, I agree! The receiver does look a bit big. However, it works well with any pet over 5 pounds. Our 8 pound
cats do just fine with the receivers. We use them to keep our cats out of the kitchen. Here is Shadow modeling
the invisible fence receiver collar. It is hard to see the receiver itself, but you can note that it does not make his
head drag!
